DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION

The Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for the organization and conduct of County recreation programs, and the development, operation, and maintenance of County recreational facilities (Code Local Government Article, secs. 1-601 through 1-611)

SENIOR CENTERS
The Department of Parks and Recreation operates the County’s six Senior Centers. The Centers are open to residents aged 60 and over. Activities include arts and crafts, computer labs, dance classes, fitness programs, table games, and trips. Senior Centers are located in Camp Springs; Capitol Heights (John E. Howard Center); Hyattsville (Langley Park Center); Laurel; North Brentwood (Gwendolyn Britt Center); and Seat Pleasant (Evelyn Cole Center).
